The Chaos Theøry Community Pledge

I built Chaos Theøry around mental health because this isn’t some random cause I picked for a brand. It’s personal.

I know what the darker side of mental health looks like. The 2 AM spirals. The days when “I’m fine” is doing a lot of work. The dark humor you develop because sometimes laughing is easier than trying to explain what the hell is happening inside your head.

So if this brand grows, I want some of that growth to go back into mental-health support too.

That’s what the Chaos Theøry Community Pledge is for.

The pledge is set up to support NAMI Western Carolina, which provides mental-health education, support, and resources in the community.

I also want to be completely transparent about how this works, because I’m a one-person business. I’m not pretending Chaos Theøry is some giant company with unlimited money sitting around.

Phase 1: Keep the Damn Thing Alive

Before the giving starts, Chaos Theøry needs a foundation of its own.

Once the store reaches $1,000 in total lifetime sales, the quarterly donation pledge begins.

Phase 2: The Better We Do, the More I Give

After that first $1,000 milestone, donations are based on each quarter’s sales:

  • Quiet Quarter — under $1,000 in sales: 5% goes to NAMI Western Carolina.
  • Solid Quarter — $1,000 to $2,499.99: 7.5% goes to NAMI Western Carolina.
  • Banger Quarter — $2,500 or more: 10% goes to NAMI Western Carolina.

The idea is simple: if Chaos Theøry grows, the amount I’m able to give grows with it.

Why a Sliding Scale?

Because this is a small business.

Some months might be great. Some might be quiet. I want the pledge to be something I can actually maintain instead of making some huge promise for marketing and then realizing later that it was completely unrealistic.

I’d rather be honest about what I can do and actually follow through.

Transparency Matters

Once the donation phase begins, I plan to share the quarterly numbers — what the store sold, which percentage applied, and what was donated.

No vague “a portion of proceeds” language.

If I say money is going somewhere, I want you to be able to see what that actually means.

Chaos Theøry started as a way for me to put the stuff happening inside my own head somewhere outside of it.

If this strange little brand eventually gets to help somebody beyond the clothes too, that means something to me.
