Some medications have helped me. Some have made me wonder whether the list of side effects was longer than the list of things they were actually supposed to fix. Either way, I’ve spent enough time reading pharmacy paperwork to know there is always some fine print.
That is where Side Effect came from.
The artwork takes all of that medication chaos and turns it into something I would actually wear — pills, warning-label details, medical imagery, and a distressed SIDE EFFECT graphic instead of another clean little reminder to “stay positive.”
I’m not anti-medication. I take my meds. I’ve also had enough medication changes, weird reactions, and is this helping me or creating a completely different problem? moments to know that treatment can be complicated as hell.
Sometimes the thing keeping you functional comes with its own list of bullshit. Both things can be true.
I put this design on a black-and-white ¾-sleeve raglan because I wanted it to feel a little different from a regular graphic tee. The contrast sleeves give it that worn-in, slightly retro look while the artwork handles the chaos in the middle.
It has a unisex fit, lightweight feel, contrast ¾ sleeves, and soft jersey construction. It’s made to order, because apparently even my side effects need their own wardrobe.
Take the meds. Read the fine print. Continue being complicated.
