Some connections should probably come with a warning label.
That was basically the entire idea behind Toxic Bonds.
I wanted this one to look like the kind of attachment that stopped being simple a long time ago. Two people tangled together, wires and tubing running through the image, pill bottles sitting on either side, damaged textures everywhere, and that big TOXIC BONDS warning hanging over the whole mess.
Because intensity does not automatically mean healthy.
Neither does history.
Neither does being unable to let go.
Sometimes a connection can feel important, familiar, impossible to walk away from, and still be doing damage at the same time. That is the part I wanted the artwork to sit in — the uncomfortable middle where attachment, loyalty, hurt, and habit all start getting mixed together.
I didn’t want it to look romantic or inspirational. I wanted it to look like something has gone wrong with the connection.
The smaller graphic on the back keeps that same idea going without turning the whole shirt into one giant billboard.
It’s printed on a lightweight Bella + Canvas 3001 with a soft unisex fit, combed and ring-spun cotton, and pre-shrunk construction.
Strong connection.
Questionable wiring.
Proceed accordingly.
